Swansea High’s girls soccer program began five years ago.Thursday night’s 4-1 victory against A.C. Flora in the opening day of Airport’s Lady Eagle Classic was an indicator of just how far the Tigers have come.“These girls have been phenomenal,” said Swansea coach Chad Meredith, whose team won 10 games last season and lost in the first round of the playoffs. “Their work ethic is second to none in my opinion. They come out, work hard and compete. I’m just along for the ride.”If the Tigers, who are ranked ninth in Class 3A, continue to play the way they did against A.C. Flora, that ride could be a sweet one.Franki Jumper scored a goal and handed out a pair of assists for the Tigers, who improved to 5-2 and play at 6:15 tonight. Jumper, who moved from forward to midfield this season, scored with a header.
